using grids is inevitable and necessary to communicate ideas.

it would impossible, for instance, to speak meaningful words unless one knew a language.

so i, like anyone else, accept whatever grid fits best in my mind; that i refuse to think my grid is the only correct grid (since there are no correct grids) is merely to say that i take into account the impossibility of certainty.

i use labels because i have to; so do you. i admit that it can't be done away with at the same time that i am forced to use one. "it is like a ladder, which after using it to climb to the top, should be cast away." that is, to accept the truth of the claims is to realize that they are merely tools to get to a certain frame of reference.

short answer: ego-arbitration is a necessary tool, and at the same time a tool that blinds us. i ego-arbitrate (label things and cut nature at some arbitrary joints) just like everyone else because i have to, but it is important to remember that it's a meaningless endeavor (except to impart meanings in a roughly metaphorical way).

"our minds soak it all up and we label everything because we're subject to the programs of the ancient human being."

------------

that you haven't heard of certain words before is your failing, not mine.
